Our MISSION
Is to inspire, empower and connect people to change their world.
‘All lives deserve a chance at a fair shot in life, we are impatient optimists working to give everyone who deserves it a fair chance at being successful in what they do and by doing this, we reduce inequality.’
Our Vision
Is to help our communities turn into a community where all of us can come together to help our fellow brothers and sisters overcome overwhelming odds so that one day they can do the same for others.
‘Our dream is for us to build a movement of empathy, empowerment and excellence.’
we Believe
Every year, millions of people find ways to transition out of poverty—by adopting new farming technologies, investing in new business opportunities, or finding new jobs. We know women and girls have a unique power to reshape societies. When you invest in a woman’s health and empowerment, it has a ripple effect, helping families, communities, and countries achieve long-lasting benefits
Our grantees, staff, and partners are critical in achieving our vision of a World where every person has the opportunity to live a healthy, productive life.
we know
THAT OUR RESOURCES ALONE ARE NOT ENOUGH, SO WE WORK TO CHANGE PUBLIC POLICIES, ATTITUDES, AND BEHAVIOURS TO IMPROVE LIVES.

We are our Brothers Keepers
We focus on building safe and supportive communities for boys and girls where they feel valued and have a chance to build their talents and help them reach their full potential.
The programs aim is to ensure that our young people go as far as their dreams and hard work can take them as the single most important task.
To ensure that all young people reach their full potential, we focus on mobilizing mentors, reducing youth involvement in drugs and drug trafficking and improving life outcomes for the boys and girls who are enrolled in our programs
Usawa wa jinsia #gender Equality
EMPOWERMENT OF THE GIRL CHILD
At R.K.O Foundation, we believe that every life has equal value. But today, no matter where you are in the world, life will be harder if you are born a girl.
Our Gender equality division works to achieve gender equality by integrating gender across the foundations work and investing in women’s economic empowerment, women leadership and removing the artificial barriers for both women and girls to thrive.
wezesha #community outreach
WORKING TOGETHER IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES
We recognize that improving people’s lives often happens at the local level, where individuals take action in their own communities.
In these programs we aim to lift up the most vulnerable people in our communities.
In 2020 with millions of people struggling to buy food, pay rent and find health care, the foundation has pivoted during the pandemic to commit more resources to the support of local groups who work in the target centres e.g Korogoch
Elimu #education
EDUCATION FOR ALL
Robert Kenedy Okongo (R.K.O) has personally and through the foundation contributed to the success of vulnerable children in the society with an intention of aiding the promising youth in their journey towards success.
We believe that education is the key to lifting vulnerable and undeserved communities out of poverty and empowering people to reach their full potential.
We aim at levelling the economic playing field and opening opportunities to everyone.
We prioritize making quality education accessible and giving leaders in our programs a chance to lift themselves and others.
Our approach is to play a catalytic role – to support the development of innovative solutions in education that are unlikely to be generated by institutions working alone and that can trigger change on a broader scale.
Afya #Health Division
Our Health Division aims to identify and fund delivery of targeted high impact solutions that's can reduce health inequalities and give everyone the opportunity to live healthy, productive lives.
We work closely with our partners to support innovative approaches and expand existing ones so that they reach the people who are most in need. We aim at harnessing the advances in science and technology to save lives.
We engage in community based projects that work towards tackling daily life style heath challenges and providing solutions to day to day health challenges such as provision of sanitary towels for school going girls.
Mambo ya kidini #Religious engagements
INVESTING IN GOD'S KINGDOM
At R.K.O Foundation, we see ourselves as custodians of wealth on for the welfare of Gods Kingdom.
As result of this we have supported and will continue to support development activities in the religious sector through an indiscriminate approach.
Have Equal Value
We partner with strategic partners who are both in the public and private sectors to foster greater participation in sporting activities as source of income and increasing public awareness on the role of sports in addressing inequity. Because our resources alone are not enough to advance the causes that we care about, we engage in advocacy efforts to promote public policies that advance our work, build strategic alliances with governments and public and private sector organizations and foster greater public awareness about urgent global issues. Our Global Policy & Advocacy Program has teams dedicated to advocacy, policy analysis, media and communications, government relations as well as strengthening of philanthropic partnerships and the charitable sector in Kenya and overseas.
